2nd Annual "Walk for the Animals" set for June '08!
Our second annual Walk a Mile in our Shoes is scheduled for Saturday, June 7th, 2008.
We have extended the walk to a 10 km walk, with a half-way point for younger kids that may not be able to do the full length.
Tristan and Karen will once again be giving a talk to individual classes at various schools in the Sidney area, to explain the Tristan Graham Children's Foundation, its goals and objectives, and how your child can make a difference by supporting community fundraising initiatives such as our walkathon. We will also be handing out pledge sheets and event maps at this time.
The walk will start and finish at ocean side Tulista Park in Sidney. Please meet us at the park for our 10 am lift-off!
Once again we will have food and drink, entertainment, and some Event Envelopes at the end of the walk, for those who have handed in their pledge sheet.
We ask that the pledge sheet with donations be handed in to your school's main office, in a sealed envelope, prior to the event, as specified. This helps us to create a smooth function, and ensures that no one gets left out! For those not gathering pledges, we welcome your attendance at the walk. Please bring a donation for the animals.
We are once again raising money for the animals, so this year, we welcome all dogs on our walk! (Please make sure they are on a leash). And as usual, we are looking for volunteers, so if you'd like to help out, we welcome your support!
Last year, we raised $2700 for the animals. This year, we want to double that amount, so grab your pledge sheets, your hats and walking shoes (and don't forget your dog!), and we'll see you at the park!
