Challenge Yourself
Last Thursday evening, a group of amazing women and myself went to dinner to celebrate the half way point of my 10-Week Best Shape of your Life Challenge.
We ate, drank, and laughed. We talked about our exercise frustrations along the Challenge route, our successes, fears, and hopes for the future.
With exercise and nutrition programs like the Challenge, we tend to equate our success (or lack of) with numbers – how much weight did we each lose. Inches? Bodyfat?
So far, most women had experienced very good weight loss, but not all. But what came to light was that this evening, and this Challenge, was less about the numbers on the scale. In fact, their continued success is in how great they feel, how toned they’re starting to look, how their partnerships with family and friends has improved, how their eating lifestyles have shifted, and how much their confidence has increased.
Very nice!
As we chatted through the night, I was reminded again of the awesome power of women, and what we can do when we set our minds to it. It’s about the awesome ability to connect, support and carry one another, and in the ability to be validated in our journeys.
Thanks ladies. Let’s keep the momentum going. We’ve got 4 weeks to go! And then….who knows!

Way to go ladies! You were competing in your own personal Olympics – not only are you celebrating the ‘end result’ but the countless daily decisions and commitments that you had to make and the positive path that you have for the future.
Thanks for the inspiration!
