Squat the Right Way!

Yesterday, during my leg training session, I watched a guy squat.

Man, was I worried!

This guy was all over the place…his knees were doing the work, he was riding the insides of his feet, and his heels were lifting in. Not to mention he had a 45-pound plate on either side!

Then when he finished racking the weight, he tightened his belt, added another 25-pounds on either side and did it again! The more weight he added, the worse his form. (Guess his ego was the only thing getting larger).

Now I know better than to say anything (especially to a guy), but I continued to do my little 25 lbs-a-side squat around the corner.

Deep, full, flat footed, and my legs did the work. I’m not bragging, I just know how to do it. Because I squatted wrong for years, and it showed – my legs were small and shapeless. And my butt stayed soft. Kind of like his!

Do yourself a favour and find a trainer, have them show you the proper way to squat ladies (yes, you should all be squatting if you want shapely legs and a firm backside!) But you gotta do it the right way. In my experience, 90% of all people – men and women - do it wrong. squat

Do it right, and do it well. It’s the hardest, but best exercise one can do for overall shape and tone. And it revs the metabolism like nothing else! Not bad!

See you at the gym!
